Absolutely agree with the numbers as that is still a work in progress. OAL has perked my interest the most as it is very subjective due to the difference in tool's used to measure it with. Your info will be a good starting point for me to work my own load from. I do appreciate the info you have given, and look forward to seeing your results! I will also add that I have some 125 Nosler boat tail green tips to play around with also.
Hope you have good luck!

I did not have any feed issues with them being so short, thought I might but have not had any yet. I use the Lancer L5AWM 30 rnd.

Working on the green tips myself.

I've been using this powder and have shred some PM's with Allen and I personally have to corraborate about avoiding any compression of the load. That being said It gives extremely good velocities with the 110-125's I've been loading it with, and also with M80 pulls for plinking. The M80's are shorter below the cannelure and present less of a chance of compressing the load compared to, say, Hornady 150FMJ.

Using a fired case cut just below where your seating depth places the base of the bullet makes a good K.I.S.S. of powder measure before weighing the charge. I make one for each of the bullets I'm loading and solder on a handle.

Great idea to prevent compression. Thanks.

Just thought I would update this thread with a new load I worked up. CAUTION, while this load was safe in my weapon it may not be safe in yours. Reduce powder charges and work up slowly.

Recently got in some Barnes Black tip 110gn projectiles after some time working on the load, I took my most recent load to the range for a test.

Powder: 20.0gns 300 MP

Primers: Tula 223

COAL: 2.250

Velocity: 2276, 2356, 2334 ,measured at 10 feet with a Chromy Beta

16" Wilson, 1/8 twist barrel, if you gotta know used a 10rd PMag....

The cases were showing a slight flattening of the primers.......not bad.......but still there. Accuracy at 50 yards with just a forearm bag for me was..........3/4".

I will load another batch and check them again, but I may have found my load for deer in the fall ;)

Thanks for the update Sig I'm still deployed, and will not be home until next week so I have yet to have a chance to work up some loads. I have really been eyeballing the lehigh defense controlled chaos for my deer load still have some bullet decisions to make before the fall. Thanks for the Data.

You can naturally compress/get 1-2 more gr into a case by using a 6 inch powder dropper, My explanation is: trip over a curb (standard powder funnel) get thrown off the 5th floor balcony (6 inch dropper) If you do compress a load, mic it and then let it sit for 48 hrs, go back n check it, if its the same, good to go, if it grew, its a NO-NO!

Here is some 300MP data directly from Alliant, they would not give me 110gr or Sub : /

Keep in mind that burn rate charts are all relative. Just because they may be near one another does not necessarily mean they burn near the same rates. They may have entirely different burn rates and properties.
With this in mind, BE-86 is near Unique, 1200 R is near RL-10x, Varmit is near VIHT20N29.
For load data on the 300 Blackout;
Powder Bullet Brand Weight OAL Primer Brass Status Charge wt (gr) Velocity (ft/sec)
PP 300MP Sierra 125gr SPT 2.000 205 Fed 19.6 2151
PP 300MP Speer 130gr HP 2.050 205 Fed 19.3 2136
2400 Sierra 125gr SPT 2.000 205 Fed 16.2 2035
2400 Speer 1 30gr HP 2.050 205 Fed 15.0 1962
Thanks,

tried 17.5gr of 300mp
8" CMMG barrel
with a 147gr Traicer "HOT!!!".. flat primer with some firing pin hole pertrusion ---(WAY COMPRESSED)
and with 150gr copper plated FP's

"HOT".. flat primers, no protrusion...

That's very interesting that you had flat primers at 17.5. I ladder up my 147gr M80 pulls to 17.5 and only experienced very slight ejector swipes. I backed down to 17.0 but didn't see the same out of my 6.75" barreled AR15.

Good reason we test our stuff out! What's your lot number on the 300 MP?
