300 BLK wins MultiGun Nationals

Well, technically, it was Daniel Horner, so no real surprise there.

But still very cool:

Using a slower twist and the kick ass 155 makes lots of sence.

Congrats to both Horner and AAC's 300BLK. Lots of Peeps in the USPSA circle have seen the Blackout now!!!!

My current USPSA game gun is a DCA 14.5 223 with a pinned brake. Maybe Aaron can make me a 1/12 twist 18 inch 300BLK to play with. I just need a good comp to work with the BLK.(I need a 6.5G too Aaron)

Do they have any shoots that use suppressors, seems like less noise would be a better way to go for a lot of reasons.

It was actually a 135 SMK pill he was shooting. I talked with him at at the match.

Thanks for the correction, you got the info from the right place.

With the 135 SMK, the 20 inch barrel makes sence. Maybe a slower powder than H110? Anyone with Quickload have any ideas. I've pushed a 125 Ballistic tip to 2200FPS with a 16 inch barrel and H110, I had no more room to push it(velocity didn't build with increments of more powder).

I've never fired the 135 SMK in 30 cal. but I've shot many SMK's, and they grouped well.

Im pretty sure I still owe you a barrel! We are turning out some 6.5 barrels in 18" and 22" lengths for a big manufacturer and Im going to make about a dozen extras. Dont let me forget to send you one, you know how I am about remembering stuff!

I know he won with it, but the AAC/Sierra 125 grain Match bullet is a much better bullet for 300 BLK than the 135 SMK. The boat-tail on the 135 means there is no neck support unless you seat the bullet deeply. And the nose profile of the 135 is not going to feed as well. If you want to make Major in a 16 inch barrel and stay within SAAMI pressure, then the SMK 175 will do it with 20.0 grains of A1680 at a 2.245 OAL.

I've loaded to Major with the 175's, and 155 Palma's using Lancer Mags modded by Wilson. I haven't looked at bullet drop of the 155 vs the 135 yet, but I'm sure it's flatter, and I'll compare the 175 vs the 135, the 135 still has arch, but not like the 175. Most of the 300BLK ammo I shoot is the 175 in supers, it's good stuff.

Aaron, I send you Cash for the next barrels, 22 in for the G and 20 inch light weight for the 6x45. Let me know when your Aimpoints come in and when to send the $$.
