Makers 85 trex and 190.
Looking for load data. I've got 1680, 296, 110, and Hornady BLK to play with. Finally found my reloading bench after a summer of chores and stacking tools on it. Anyone done up these loads with this powder?
Re: Makers 85 trex and 190.
I've messed with the 190's and love em.
A1680... I'm using a very short barrel (8") and had to load up 13.2gn's - I'm getting significantly high ES's but outstanding accuracy even at 100 yards. (prob only getting 60% power ignition.. since moved on to N120 and some A5744 - liking both so far)
If your using a 16" I'd probably start around 11-12 and see what happens.
COAL is very short on these for me. 2.145 would put the ojive in the lands... so either measure your chamber or measure your chamber!
If I remember correctly h110 took about 9.4gn but wasn't functioning / locking back without a suppressor.
*still great accuracy*
My only issues with the Maker 190's - Ojive is all over the place.. I intentionally load long.
- Then I group all bullets according to ojive placement loaded - then finish seating (unfortunately that only works once powder choice and weights finished)
Good Luck!

Re: Makers 85 trex and 190.
Thanks, I'm using a Daniel Defense upper with a 10.3" barrel. Suppressor's in jail. Ordered the end of August, so I'm guessing late next summer or early fall. These DD barrels have a 1/8" twist. On Makers website there is a message on the 220 weight to use 1/7". So I figured if I drop down in weight a little it will also drop some length and therefore may work better. We'll see. In firing unsuppressed my pistol and SBR have digested everything from 110 to 220 without a hiccup. Suppressed may be a different story. Those barrels love those Fiocchi 125 SST rounds printing MOA at a 100 from a Caldwell lead sled.

For the 85 T-Rex I would start at 21.5-22 grains of 296 with the bullet seated at the cannalure. After that it will depend on your sense of adventure and rifle.
300 Blackout, not just for sub-sonics.

Honestly.. I originally got the 190s since they are sold in 100 packs vs 50 - nothing wrong with saving 24cents!. They exceeded my expectations on accuracy... doesn't matter where they get loaded - long, short, anywhere between. I still get great accuracy.BOB567 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2019 6:47 pm Thanks, I'm using a Daniel Defense upper with a 10.3" barrel. Suppressor's in jail. Good luck.. Let me know how they perform!
