Post by danield »

Any one here have real world experience with KAK barrels. I'm starting a 7.5 inch sbr that I'll run suppressed 100% of the time using my specwar 762

I have one of their 300 barrels.

It's real nice, though the gas port is on the large side.

I've used some of there products as well but just not there barrels. I remember talking to Kurt a long time ago and agree, he was very helpful. I have tried getting in contact with him or anyone else there at KAK and can't seem to get a response.
I went ahead and orderd the barrel and bolt. I'll update once I've got it all out together for anyone else who's curious.

I purchased my first barrel in 300bo from KAK almost three years ago. It's a 16" w/ carbine gas, ordered a complete upper in 300bo and melonite 5.56 a few months later for friends. I wish I he had pistol length gas back then on the 16", but I have several cans that cycle the system fun w/ subs and a1680. They're great barrels and continue to perform as expected.

I have one of the KAK 8.5" value barrels. I was out shooting it on Monday. I was using hand loads with 208 AMAX and Alliant Power Pro 300-MP. I can post the loads later, but I was getting about 980 FPS and 3/4" to 1" groups at 50 yards. Primers were still rounded, so I could probably boost the powder a little to get closer to 1050 FPS. Funny thing was with the same load out of my 16" Ruger American Rifle the velocity was within 20 FPS. I was also using a Specwar 7.62 suppressor.

Not Blackout, but I built an upper in 5.56 with one of their 11 inch value line barrels. I put an adjustable gas block on it and tuned it to run with my Specwar suppressor. I have not had the chance to shoot it extensively, but it has ran 100% perfect. I think the value line barrels are good deal for the money.

Sorry , I should have specified what caliber. I went ahead and purchased the 8in 556 barrel. So far so good. Only tested the funtionallity of the rifle so far. As soon as I get my optic I'll start testing loads for accuracy inside 50 yrds.

The 300 BLK barrel I have from them shoots and groups great with the right loads. I also have a 5.56 barrel that isn't as good,OK I guess for combat accuracy but not the precision I was looking for. I mainly shoot 200 yds and it's in the 4-6" range. Both are also built on Aero Enhanced uppers and I really like them. That's all I'll use now.
