To each their own, but I wouldn't use anything heavier than 68g in a 1:8 223.

Consider a 25-45 sharps barrel.
I was thinking the same thing. That 1:8 barrel may not stabilize a 77gr bullet.
I have 2 1:8 and a 1:9 twist barrel that stabilize 77gr. bullets and shoot quite well out to 600 yds
ETA: my accuracy loads use N135, 55gr running 3250 fps and 75-77gr running 2740 fps out of a 20” barrel

Certifiable and I have the same experience, 75 gr Hornady HPBT in a 1/9 20" or 1/8 20". In my experience, and that of many shooters, the 1/8 is just about as versatile as it gets. 50 gr Vmax to 77 gr Sierra match, this twist does it just as well as 1/7, but won't tear up some of the lighter Varmint pills.
What's not to like about that ? I no longer own a 1/7 barrel, but I also am primarily a predator and varmint type.

I will add the powders of my choice are the more temp stable variety. Ball powders in Spring and Summer, Benchmark, Varget, and H4895 for the cold and snow critter loads.
