10.5" upper

Post by Jethro99 »

Ok, so PSA had a deal on uppers this last weekend. $260 free shipping on a complete 10.5" upper 5.56 or 300 blk. I have one in BLK already, so ordered the 5.56. I have a pistol lower and a SBR so I'm good that way. Ordered a YHM brake so my M2 can will fit from the get-go.
If you have one (5.56) what are you running for optic? I'm thinking red dot or 1-4, maybe 1-6. It will be a range toy maybe truck gun on the weekends.

For optics I run the discontinued Vortex 1-4x ( the new 1-6x does not have uncapped turrets ) .

Like the above , but in mrad. Plenty of magnification , thin crosshairs for fine shots , lighted reticle for a red dot type sight ( dot and 4 segment ring ) , 10 brightness settings , twist adjustment cap with "off" between each setting . I have this on my 10.5 5.56 , my 9-inch 300 , and my 8-inch .458 Socom .
I also have a clip-on front mounted gen3 for night use ( works on all my guns ) .

I have a few short 5.56 uppers. I use 1x dot sights, a 4x ACOG, and a 1-4x scope.

i'm thinking of doing like a 1-4 or 1.75-5 or something like that on my 11" 5.56 upper. not sure yet, but it definatly needs an optic.

I'm running a vortex sparc2 on my 10.5 upper, works great. My barrel is a rock river arms, one of the most reliable and accurate guns I own.

Mounted a cheaper red dot on it today. At 50 yds this thing is dead nutz. May still look at a 1-4x24, I don't think I will need anything more after the range test today. my son can't believe how light and fast this thing moves. With the can on it, it's too much fun.
After shooting it today I asked my boy " what did we learn today?" his said "suppressors are awesome!!".
