Sometimes I like to do comparisons to help my brain grasp the scale of things. At 260 grains:
I store my lead into two pound ingots. That's only 54 bullets.
One bullet is as heavy as four ruby throated hummingbirds.
Nine are heavier than a baseball.
25 bullets in a football.
This is a heavy bullet.
I have a new design in hand, will be testing soon

If you coat it the right color, It won't look so heavybangbangping wrote:Sometimes I like to do comparisons to help my brain grasp the scale of things. At 260 grains:

Maybe it needs vertical lube grooves.

I started a new thread about V3.0 of this bullet
viewtopic.php?f=185&t=99010
Hey bangbangping, I use Blue Dot for my AR loads but if I use those same loads in a gun with a longer barrel they go supersonic. In my 8.5" gun 7.5 grains of Blue Dot is about perfect. At 8 grains they are going supersonic, even in the 8.5" AR.
What charge weight are you using for your single shot Blue Dot loads?
My V3.0 should be north of 280 grains using pure lead and 270 using wheel weights. I am also looking at the possibility of make a single shot only bullet that should be close to 290 grains or maybe even heavier than that.

Don't have my data handy but IIRC it was around 6 grains.
Edit: 6.0 grains Blue Dot averages 992 fps in the M7. 16" barrel and TBAC 30P-1.
