Hello folks,
Looking for advice on load testing for two new 300 BLK guns to me. A 16" barreled AR that has been shot fairly little and a brand new 8 1/2" AR pistol.
Wondering if you folks would start with loading jacketed bullets for load development and accuracy testing, then move to the cast/coated? Or use the cast/coated boolits that I ultimately plan to get to from the very beginning?
Is there some virtue to using copper jacketed for "barrel break in" and or "coppering" the bores prior to going to the powder coated cast loads?
TIA!

When shooting cast you want to remove all copper from the bore. My 300BLKs have been shot with cast (supers)exclusively, nd if it were my ultimate goal to shoot coated bullets, I would start with a clean barrel and proceed working up loads with those projectiles.
