Hey all, I am new to this forum. I want to get started with casting 300blk bullets but I do not know what type of molds to get. I would like to stay away from the brass caps and go the way of powder coating. Can any cast be powered coated?
Any help would be great. I am going to be looking through the different types of subjects that are hear.
Thanks.

you just have to make sure theres no lube on them before you try to pc them
otherwise cast can be pc'ed, and then gas checked if necessary after the PC

If you don't kill a deer with that, at least you'll cure its fever blisters.cubdad1967 wrote:I currently shoot 150gr blistik tip out of a ruger ranch.
Sorry. Sometimes I amuse only myself.

That's a NOE 247, actual weight as a hollow point IIRC is around 225. I like it as a sub, never tried super. Here's a thread on it...trying to get NOE to make some more. viewtopic.php?t=99872

Re: What type of cast bullets can be powered coated?
Certain mold designs are definitely better than others for powder coating. Avoid molds with long "bore riding" noses. The noses usually end up too thick after the PC is baked on. I worry about bullet setback with those designs. Also, don't buy a gas check mold if you are not going to use gas checks with it--accuracy will struggle. How heavy of a bullet are you wanting to use? The NOE 247 works fine in my guns powder coated. The NOE HTC style bullet mold designs are made for using powder coat or Hi-Tek Coating. The NOE HTC-310-153 seems to be a good all around bullet. I also really like the NOE 309-169-FN (ELCO) mold.cubdad1967 wrote:...I want to get started with casting 300blk bullets but I do not know what type of molds to get.
