A2 Birdcage Flash Hider for 300 BLK

Post by shootzen »

I am building my first AR, and in 300 BLK. Since Model 1 Sales sells 300 BLK kits and parts, I wanted to see if they had an A2 Birdcage for 300 BLK. Their webpage on the A2 Birdcage doesn't mention calibers, only thread patterns.

http://www.model1sales.com/index.cfm?fu ... ory_id=406

I am curious: Is there is any manufacturing standard correlating caliber and thread size pattern? My 300 BLK barrel has a 5/8"-24 thread pattern. Are 5/8"-24 Birdcages always/usually/sometimes .30 cal?

Most often, might also work on other's, 6.8 and 6.5, but are primarily for 308. Think of A2 birdcage as a thread protector, if you want a true flash suppressor, there are better options out there.
The greatest danger to America is a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like Obama with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit the follies of Obama than to restore the necessary common sense
