Real men also shoot .22's. It's all good. Personally, I think there's something wrong with anyone who doesn't have at least four or five of them.
No idea about the lead issue. I know my .22 suppressor gets dirty, but don't know much of that is lead. Shooting high power rounds through one, like you would be able to do, would help keep it cleaner.
