A quick question about submitting form 4's...

Post by rb288 »

I have just bought 3 suppressors.
Does anyone think there would be any problem with submitting all 3 together, in the same package, or would it be best to submit them separately.?

I have never submitted more than 1 at any time before.

Thanks for any thoughts.
I may have been on the losing side, but, I'm not convinced it was the wrong side.

There is nothing wrong with submitting all 3 at the same time.

It is best, however, to cut 3 separate checks.

Honestly, though, I'd go back to the FFL and have THEM submit the forms. That way the forms are correct. They can even sign on your behalf. They just need your trust and/or fingerprints, LEO signoff (for now), etc.

Might not be a bad idea to get tracking on that package, would suck to have 3 delayed if it goes wayward.

I like to send my form 4 package as certified mail, overnight, signature required, the whole 9 yards.
That way, I know exactly when it arrived and that it was delivered.
My FFL won 't send it that way and just drops them in the mail. So I deliver them to the P.o. after the FFL has completed the forms, they give me the packet to mail.
And, yes, 3 separate checks each attached to it's own form 4.

I sent my 2 in the same envelope but wrote separate checks for each one. BATFE cashed both checks so I am pretty sure both got in the system. I figured why track more than one package for mail purposes.

I just sent in two at the same time.
Separate copies of Trust and US Citizenship Form for each item.
Separate checks for each item.

They only share the mailing envelope.
