you need to be able to return it to the ORIGINAL form 1 condition... so it the upper is a .223 10" upper and you have a 10" 300 BLK upper.. keep the original Form 1 upper with you so you can return it to the registered condition... or so I was told.
Only exception is if you return it to a non SPR liek a TC contender.. you need not take you 10" barrel if so registered if you put a 16" barrel on it with a stock. Now it;s a rifle with some cool personal engraving. a 5320.20 MAY not be needed in this condition in a Non SBR friendly state. IF the short barrel is not with you.
This is a very gray area. IMHO since the T/C is the only pistol you can switch from a rifle to Pistol and back legally. Or so I was told.
