22-250 with a 24x scope.
Re: Coyote Load
I haven’t noticed coyotes to be too tough. Anything seems to ruin their day and simultaneously solve all their problems.
Many schools of thought. Most accurate under 135 gr, or smallest, fastest load possible. Both is ideal.
Obviously, lightest fastest bullet/load combo that his twist barrel will shoot accurately. If his gun stabilizes 110’s, and you can find some, give it a shot. Speer makes (made?) 125 hollow point. Hornady makes some 130-135 gr varmint bullets. Coyotes aren’t as big as they look. Accuracy is more important than speed in my book.
YMMV.

Re: Coyote Load
I use Hornady 110 grain SP bullets for hogs, and when an occasional coyote has made an appearance in range, they haven't walked away.
I like the SP's because they're relatively cheap and they work well in my application.
