A next door neighbor stopped by our house yesterday. Had a nice 8 pt buck in the back of his truck he found along the road. Had a small leaking blood hole in it's neck and the eyeballs plucked out. No other damage. Since it was found on our land, a hay field, he thought it may have been mine. It was a really nice deer except for belly bloat. Not something I would eat. Anyway, I had noticed circling buzzards earlier.
But what is it about eyes that are so tasty?

Why the eyes??
Previously known as hardcase. Moved lost internet connection for 1+ years.
Re: Why the eyes??
Where the buzzards start hardcase. They pluck they eyes out of a newborn calf.
You can't beat the mountain, pilgrim. Mountains got its own way.
Re: Why the eyes??
Yep, those feathered beasts like to get the nice juicy stuff first, then come back after some tenderizin' takes place and some other beast has opened things up for them to readily devour. However the Osprey seems to prefer fresh fish or small game like ground squirrels. They will seldom pick up one freshly blasted in the field, preferring to stand near a gopher hole and wait for the meal to emerge. Those critters have a bit more class and self respect as hunters
