Lightweight 300BLK AR Build

Post by Hud33 »

I wanted a lightweight carbine with good accuracy potential for use as a ranch rifle in a suppressed and unsuppressed role. I ended up with a 7 lb. carbine with optic and loaded 20 round mag.

Plum Crazy (Carbon-15) lower
Noveske 14.5" barrel Rogue Hunter with perm. AAC Blackout for over 16" length
Magpul CTR, MOE Pistol Grip, MOE Vertical Grip
Leupold 1.25-4x20 VX-R Patrol Tactical 30mm Riflescope on LaRue SPR 1.5
Magpul 20 round PMAG

Nice looking stick, man! Let us know what you shoot with it. I started a hunting photo thread and am interested to see what 300BLK hunters harvest with the round.

I always liked that 14.5 Rogue Hunter...Shoot well?

I like it, 'ceptin for VFGs. I don't understand them. A handstop is useful though.

VFGs are very handy for the footsoldier that has to walk more than shoot. When you walk day in and day out with heavy kit for more than 8-12 hours a day, the vfg makes a difference in carrying it. Also if you have pressure switches for 2 or more accesories, the vfg helps to be able to activate them quickly under stress.

It will get used on the local coyote population and for general HD / truck carry. I agree about the VFG. I use this one as a hand stop. I would cut it in half but my son wants to use the VFG for a VFG! Kids. I am happy with the VX-R Patrol especially with the ability to go from subsonic to supersonic with a twist of the dial.

A Noveske on top of a Plum Crazy? Sheer insanity

Really neat rig.
