Does anyone think 300blk is a reproduced 7.92 Kurz round in a modern rifle with modern powders?

Not really. To me it's a closer relative to the russian 7.62x39. It's a chubby little round shot out of the first high capacity semi-auto assault rifle found in most WW2 video games.

Yes, it is exactly the same muzzle ballistics as 7.92mm. However, the bullets are longer and have a higher BC, so 300 BLK ends up outperforming 7.62x39mm at ranges past about 120 yards.
