I think I have seen Blue dot and 700x listed in other places. Any other notes you have for any of these would be appreciated.Suputin221 wrote:Powders I have used in subsonic loads for a Bolt Gun

Yes, I am a Baptist, and yes I carry a gun. You might think I carry a gun because I don't trust God. Well you would be wrong. I have complete faith in my Lord. It is mankind I have no trust in

150gr FMJ: 700X 4.7gr = 901 fps, 5.2gr 1064 fps
165gr/170gr: 700X 4.2gr = 989 fps
200gr Lapua: Blue Dot 7.0gr = 965 fps
That ought to at least give you some starting points.

Accurate #9 may be one you should add to your list.
It has worked well for me when I run out of N110.
I like it better that H110 even...

Shhh! You'll cause "a run" on my favorite powder! These 300 Blk guys are like the Grinch: They scoop up every morsel of anything that could work, leaving nothing on the shelves for us...Dr.Phil wrote:Accurate #9 may be one you should add to your list.

Yes, AA#9 is a great 300 Blk powder. Think of it as a ball powder version of 2400, which burns just a touch slower than the "new" Alliant 2400. (Weight-for-weight, AA9 is very similar to the Hercules 2400, but because AA9 is a fine-grained ball powder, it is not a volume-for-volume substitute.)
In a gun with an adjustable gas block, it works in all 4 regimes.
Re: Powders For the 300 blk
Will A#9 work well with the lighter bullet weights like H110 will?
Re: Powders For the 300 blk
Yes, just about. AA#9 is about (very roughly -- don't use to guesstimate load data) 5% faster than H110. I'll look for my load sheet tomorrow or Wed. It has 125gr - 220gr loads.slickh wrote:Will A#9 work well with the lighter bullet weights like H110 will?
