PMed for excel file.
In this age of "you get what you can actually find", I am looking for guidance and a good starting point for a load up, subs/SBR/suppressed:
AR
BA 8.3" pistol gas
1:7 twist
Omega w/brake mount
What I have on hand:
220gr Interlocks
Lil'Gun & 4227 powders
Once-fired brass
From the chart on page 7, it looks like 8.2 of lil'gun would do well for my setup, at least for starters? The OAL is perhaps the kicker, given the round nose of the interlock.
Trying to get "official" blackout loads with the 220 interlocks is like looking for hen's teeth. I suspect the 1:7 will help it stabilize, and I am not expecting expansion

Probably not. That data is with a slightly longer barrel but more importantly, a bullet that's more than 1/4" longer than yours. A quarter inch in extra case capacity is huge with this cartridge. You'd probably be very slow.Fogtripper wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 8:06 pm What I have on hand:

I have no experience with LilGun for subs, but used to shoot 4227 with the same barrel as yours. Loading the 220 Interlocks to mag length, you should be in the ball park with 11 grains of IMR 4227.

I wonder (if I can find a butt-to-ogive) guage, I can replicate the seat depth of the SMKs, with the interlock bullets. Now I am curious to learn the bullet dimensions, from butt to ogive of each type.bangbangping wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 1:24 pmProbably not. Picked up a box of 200 grain SMKs (can only get what ya can find these days), and just going by the eyeball, the ogive looks to begin in approximately the same distance from the base as the interlock 220s. Not overly scientific, but that will come with some official measures. And a nod to one being a square base, while the SMK is a BT. If seated to the same depth, they may very well be similar distances to the lands when chambered.
