Load Catalog: Subsonic, All Powders, Cast Bullets

This thread is a compilation of "Pet Loads" using any powders when combined with CAST bullets at SUBSONIC velocities that others have contributed for publication. No chat and no discussion of loads. You can provide a link in your post for the "workup" of the load if you choose to post one.

Any loads listed are what have worked for others, but does not mean that they will work for you or your specific firearm. Pet Loads are NOT a shortcut nor a quick and cheap way to escape the sometimes tedious task of load development. Load development means starting with a LOWER powder charge and working up to that "Pet Load" in a safe and methodical manner, always checking for signs of overpressure along the way. NEVER take a "Pet Load" and use it as a starting point.

This is an example of a load that I worked up in my AR:

Rifle Used: Home built AR pistol (details below)
Barrel: AR-Stoner http://www.midwayusa.com/product/271848 ... less-steel
Barrel Length and Twist: 10.5" with 1 in 8 twist and pistol length gas system.
Magazine Brand/Size: Magpul P-Mag, 30 round. Only loaded to 10. Didn't try a full mag.
Bullet Used: Missouri Bullet Company 245 grain .309" Hi-Tek coated 300 Blackout bullets.
Powder Charge and Brand: Hodgden H110, see charge below with velocities.
Case Used: Reformed LC 5.56
Primer: CCI Small Rifle
COAL: 2.140"
No crimp.

9.8 grain charge gave me an average of 1090 FPS with a 30 FPS SD
10.6 grain charge gave me an average of 1185 FPS with a 25 FPS SD

My subsonic load will likely end up at 9.3 grains to make sure I don't creep over in warm weather.

Ambient temp during testing: 66 degrees F

Weapon: AR Pistol with AR-Stoner 10.5" barrel (pistol length gas system), DPMS chromed BCG, ACE pistol buffer tube, spring, and buffer. Less important details: YHM free-float forend, VLTOR MUR-1 upper receiver & Gunfighter charging handle, PSA lower, Blackout flash hider, Magpul MOE-K grip.

All cycled, ejected, and picked up the next round just fine. Accuracy was good considering I was shooting a pistol (rested on a front bag, 2" 10 shot group at about 30 yards, not trying very hard, stock military trigger). POI was much (3.5") lower and to the right of my 147 grain M80 pinking loads (~1700 FPS from the same gun). All good clean holes with no evidence of yaw.
