W296 vs H110, 150 gr supersonic load

Post by gearyr »

I have been using H110 for my 300BLK pistol and rifle. Can't find any H110. How would using W296 with a 150 gr SP do? Is W296 close to H110? I'm loading for supersonic loads. Rifle 16 inch barrel and pistol 8.5 inch barrel.
Thanks, gearyr

As I understand it, except for minor variations in lots, they are essentially the same powder. If you look in loading manuals, you'll often see loads for both listed side-by-side with only a tenth of a gr. difference between them. As with any time you change components, don't start at the top. But with H110 or W 296, don't reduce them below published minimums, either. I use W296 and a small rifle magnum primer for all my 300 BLK loads, and it works great for me.
