Hahaha. I've read your testing on CFEBlK. Of course after I bought 4 lbs. Lol. I have a F1 can on it. Really doesn't do much. First build so I need to make adjustments.
My concern is position sensitive spikes. I was hopeful 410 would be a bit bulkier. I'll drop it down into the 8gr range but wait until I have a chrono.
Need load data for Alliant 410. Subs or supers

Re: Need load data for Alliant 410. Subs or supers
Made it out to the range with a chrono today. Here are my results. My chrono wasn't connecting to my phone so this is from memory. For clarification port size is 0.09 and an H buffer.
Temp was 25 according to my car when I pulled it
147gr xtreme fmj 10.8gr col 2.082 +/- .002
1416
1420
150gr horn fmjbt 8.9gr col 2.10
1148
1136
1140
1 round mag test didn't lock but I did a 4 round function that did lock back.

If there is enough bullet, move it out .010”- .020” and see if it gets more reliable.

4 errors probably due to learning the equipment. Functioned properly. 2/3 lock backs before function/feed testing.

Idk only because of data. I don't think I'm even up to 20 total rounds trying to hit subsonic speeds. I will says it on par with my lil gun loads in regards to function. Dropping down to 8.0gr to hit subsonic velocity might change that

Re: Need load data for Alliant 410. Subs or supers
I actually purchased Alliant 410 a while back and tried it out in 7.5 “ barrel in AR platform. I wasn’t able to find any load data on this charge anywhere but I desperately wanted to reload and hit the range so I tried it out. I had chrono but batteries was dead, so I didn’t get muzzle velocities. I loaded up 100 rounds of 125 grain Sierra copper plated - starting at 16 grains of alliant 410, working down a half grain at a time down to 9 grains. All of the loads worked - bolt locked back on single mag fed shots - however my cases started flying out around 5:30 at around 13 grains- showing signs of low gas pressure- cases should eject towards the 3 o’clock area. Coal was 2.15” which probably seems a little long but I loaded so they practically touching the lans on in my chamber. I am not sure of FPS on the bullet, but I would have to say that at 13 grains suppressed felt very light on the recoil and landed right on target at 50 yards on a newly installed red dot that has never been zeroed in. I would say this powder definitely has potential and is worth lightening up my buffer to balance the under pressure symptoms. I haven’t tried it at long ranges, although my pistol can reach rifle ranges - I have it set it for medium to short range applications. I have some 200 grain hollow points I’m gonna give it a go again and make sure I bring extra batteries for the chrono… I will have some numbers for you next time
