American Quality Ammunition? Any Good?

Post by KneverKnew »

I just got a flyer from Cheaper Than Dirt. They have American Quality Ammunition 300 Blackout ammo on sale. Hornady A-Max 208 grain, 250 rounds for $175.59.

Anybody know if this ammo is any good, and is this a descent price?
I typically reload my own, but was just wondering.

A thousand times NO. I got some almost a year ago, had 10+ that were out of spec and would not chamber or gauge out of 250. They do not prep their brass properly. I didn't even reload it, just tossed the junk. DO NOT BUY IT.

"It sports a velocity of 1250 feet per second for a light recoil, and will be whisper quiet through your supressor"

And (unless you live in death valley or the dead sea....) after it exits your suppressor, you will hear a loud sonic crack.

I wouldn't buy anything from CTD if they were the last gun store in the universe.

Thanks. Yes, I pretty much came to that decision after a little more research. Many comments on quality issues. Again, Thanks.

I find it amusing people still support CTD.

I bought some AQA 147 gr supers from Ventura Munitions and it was great. Not a single problem. $139 for 250. Also got some of their 5.56 that is excellent.

Who knows, maybe after enough returns and complaints they began a good QC program with their products...

I bought 500 rds American Quality Ammunition 22 mag jacketed hollow point 40 gr. This weekend, my son almost damaged his eye when one of the rounds mushroomed at the rim and shot a hot piece of metal in his face just below his eye from my Kel-Tec PMR-30 . This is happened twice now and I will never buy their junk again.
