Ammo Price and Stock

Post by LubeckTech »

I have a 300aac upper comming next week and am looking for some ammo with which to break it in so I'd like to get the most in expensive thing out there that the primers don't fall out of (PNW).

Eventually I will load my own jacketed & cast but want to shoot some factory stuff first.

Who has the best prices and supply??

It depends on what you want. Right now, most everyone is out of Remington UMC, Barnes black tip and other major manufacturer loads.

Almost everyone has some stock from smaller or niche outfits.

I tend to cross-shop:

cheaperthandirt.com
ammunitiontogo.com
midwayusa.com
bullseyeindoorrange.com

There are of course, others.

I posted this on another thread, hope it helps:

115gr UMC is out everywhere, so good and cheap is out everywhere, however, these selections can be found:

Why doesn't Remington produce more 300BLK ammo? Buyers want it but it's nowhere to be found. Is it oversight or too many other ammo types using up their cycles?

We are probably not going to see anything in the near future as production will go to .223 Rem. which was in short supply after the election. Over the past few days the supply (.223) has went from short to NONE!!
I will break-in my new upper with reloads.

Remington gives 300 BLK priority over 223.

I have a DD Ambush coming in 300 AAC BLK. and have found lots of 300 BLK ammo on shelves in CA,bay area ! with the big box stores pulling/sold out of .223/5.56 ammo,Horndady Whisper subsonic for 23.99 the Rem.UMC $14.00 bx-20. The seller of my rifle included 200 rnds. and I bought 260. I really want properly headstamped brass and brass by it's self cost nearly that. Kudos to Remington for getting it out there, I am going to enjoy this cartridge a lot.I did not think much of the REM. UMC 55 gr.FMJ .223 ammo and understand the 300 BLK is nearly match grade.

Oh, do please tell me where! Given that there is only one LGS even close to me, I don't frequent too many. I have nothing planned other than a trip to the range this weekend. Visiting a few shops that have 300BLK on the shelves would be a nice weekend diversion.
