Case length gauge for 300 ??

Post by Novicereloader »

Hello all,,
Looking to reload ammo for 300 and trying to find a Lyman or other grade that has a case length gauge? I know 1.368 is case length for 300 blackout but how can you check your brass?
The Ez- case length gauge checker from Lyman doesn’t have that size on it? Please help?

Many reloaders also use the Sheridan slotted gauge and swear by it, myself included:

It's pricey but worth every cent.

These are full-dimension case gauges, not just length: Brownells has Lyman.

I've also used gauges from Wilson and Sheridan. All have worked very well.

+1 on Sheridan slotted: overkill for my minimalist use (if case fits, it shoots), but very nice.

I just purchased an awesome gauge from Whidden Gunworks: https://www.whiddengunworks.com/product/case-gauge-3/

John Whidden has developed several unique reloading tools. This particular gauge will allow you to measure a fired piece of brass and measure your chamber's exact headspace. I use this measurement and back off from it about .002 as the setting for my resizing die. It is easy to use and you get extreme accuracy from it.
