I have acquired a used Remington Model 700 AAC-SD in 300 Blackout with a 1 in 7 twist.
I have tried 3 different types of Factory ammo 110 gr & 125 gr and 2 different of my reloads, 100 gr Barnes and 110 gr Nosler.
It will shoot ok at 25 yards then at 50 & 100 yards it all over the paper.
Installed Burris Extreme Rings and Vortex scope and still no joy, Everything is tight.

I think I am going to order a new 1 in 8 twist barrel.
Who would you all recommend?
Thanks.
Shawn

Before you do anything, verify the twist is actually 1/7. It might be 1/10, there were a lot sent out that way.

Up until a year ago Remington would replace the rifle, not sure if that option is still available since the bankruptcy.

As far as replacement barrels, it’s just a choice many great manufacturers out there.

Give it a good cleaning with Hoppes / tight 30 cal bronze brush followed by JB compound on a patch and work it back and forth on any tight spots.

McGowan makes a good middle tier barrel. Have a 1-8" 6br on a Savage Striker and it's a consistent 3/8" shooter. They do the Rem / Sav prefits if you want to go that route.

Mine is marked 1:7, but is actually 1:10.
Shoots great with 100’s and 115’s.

I prefer a 1/10 unless it’s dedicated for subs. Even at 1/10 with subs the Hornady 208 AMax was almost MOA capable to 200 yards.

Favorite bullet is a 175 SMK. Sub MOA results at 1000 fps subsonic, same at 2000 fps as a super.
