WOOHOO!! Glad ya got it working man!!

I was shooting mine last night... with 90g FTX!!!! These never ever came close to "feeding" before and they where not slick feeding. But push forward stop pull back a tad and push closed worked that way for fifty rounds shooting suppressed steel last afternoon!! These where trail boss 4.5g loads and nice n quiet and super accurate insode the 50 yards we shot.

I have four ladders loaded for todays range trip. Hoping I find a acc node... H335, 30-31.2230 & H110 powders.

CW, when you used the Tru-oil, did you sand off the entire stock’s factory finish? Or did you just sand where material needed to be removed?

I’m thinking of re-contourng mine around the trigger/thumbhole area because it feels too blocky to me, like your did for you.

Hello Sarge!!

I sanded everywhere. But on orig finish only to scuff up. I sanded everywhere smoother and smoother as well.

As long as orig finish is in good shape it should be just fine.

Good luck

Thanks. I might spend a few quality hours with sand paper and bourbon!

Looks nice cw.

Mine came out OK, shoots well and all but it was a bit more work than I planned on.The only issue left is the poor feeding of some longer rounds. But that was an issue with the original gun/stock also.

I find its the barrel. I am tempted to remove it and polish Like a AR PCC barrel opening. The factory leaves it square just breaking that corner and polishing to a mirror might make all the difference.

I would love for my NOE TL 310-178 RD bullet
To feed. It shoots SO FLIPIN well single loaded!!

Thanks CW, I’ll have to give that a shot. SHort rounds like the Hornady 190 Sub-X do well, but the 208 loads hang up.

That's fantastic! I'm glad you got it working and had a successful shooting session. Good luck with your range trip today and finding the desired accuracy node with H335, 30-31.2230, and H110 powders. Enjoy your time at the range!

Sorry for bumping into an old conversation. It sounds like you've had mixed experiences with Boyd's stocks, but it's great that you could revamp your second one and improve its performance. If you're looking for a new stock for your RARR, the "SPIKE CAMP" stock could be worth considering. I also suggest you visit this site https://fbs.com/trading/traders-calculator to calculate your possible income from each investment in stocks. I hope that helps!
