Subs and 16” barrels

Post by parsky1 »

Has anyone shot subs out of a 16” barrel at 100 yards. How did they group?

If memory is correct, I get about 1.5 or so inch groups with SilencerCo Harvester loads out of my 16” Ruger American Ranch.

I have acceptable results also in my RARR, probably the best groups are under 2" with mostly 200 gr and heavier bullets. One of my previous 16" AR uppers seemed to like subs in that same weight range. So many variables when launching subs for groups at 100. Some sub combos surprise and one thinks he has it all figured out...and then not so much.

I bought a 16” wilson combat. It has better cold bore shot performance than my last barrel. Still is about 50-60fps slow on the first shot.

What are the ES/SD numbers for that load ?

That number is not too far off.
300 Blackout, not just for sub-sonics.
