Post by fporfido3 »

Okay, it's barrel time. First time builder and have narrowed down a few options but need some help on which one to go with. Here they are.

https://specialopstactical.com/product/ ... br-barrel/
https://cmmginc.com/product/barrel-sub- ... n-300-blk/
https://bisonarmory.com/8-5-300-blackout-pistol-barrel/
https://www.kakindustry.com/ar-15-parts ... barrel-5r7
https://www.roscomanufacturing.com/shop ... -blackout/
Last option is rosco bloodline 8.2 but I was limited to 5 URLs

Ballistic Advantage barrels are good for the most part, but if you are planning on running a can, the thread relief at the shoulder of their muzzle threads tends to be not the greatest. I have had to use timing shims to get a good alignment with my BA barrels. If you are going to run just a plain brake or flash hider with no can, BA would definitely be a great choice.

Hmm, I too have a BA barrel and run a can (actually 2) on it and have no problems with either one. Maybe they solved the issue? IDK, I only have the one barrel with nothing to compare it to.

I ended up going with a Wilson Combat 8" Barrel, which wasn't even on my list lol. I came across it on Optics Planet for a hell of a deal and wondered why i hadn't considered it before.
