Any 300 BLK barrels made with 1:10 twist?

I've got a 300 BLK with a 16" 1:7 twist barrel and just for the heck of it thought about trying a 1:10 twist also. Does anybody actually make one?

Rainier Arms used to sell one in their Match or UltraMatch line.

Is that for supers only? What would be gained?

Just for supers with a bullet weight up to 168gr. I have a smaller version -- the 7.62 mini-whisper -- and I can shoot some really heavy stuff with it but I prefer bullets between 110gr up to the 168gr matchking. The barrel is a 1:10 twist because years ago when I got it made 1:8 type .308 barrel blanks were almost impossible to find. I just wanted to shoot the same bullets but be able to put a little more powder behind them. This was just for the heck of it -- I already have a 300 BLK with a 1:7 twist.

All T/C Contender 300 Whisper barrels are 1/10".

Thanks for that information although I wasn't planning on buying a whole rifle but it might be the thing to do down the road.

Black Hole Weaponry can cut it to your specifications.

My Redx 7.5" 300BLK barrel is 1:10. I haven't shot anything over 220gr subsonic through it, but it shot those fine to 50yds against steel. I don't know how well they'd group or if they're tumbling, but until MN allows cans that's not much of an issue for me. At least we're not as bad as CA.

A 10 twist will stabilize pretty much ANY supersonic bullet up to, and including, 220 grain bullets. Just need to make sure they are in the upper end of the supersonic velocity load.

I have several 10 twist guns and I have shot thousands of 245 grain cast bullets, at subsonic velocities, out of those guns without any stabilization issues. For jacketed I would not go above 200 grains if shooting SMKs and probably 210 grain if using a shorter hunting style bullet.

But as always, verify before shooting through a suppressor.

I made a batch of 1:10 twist for our friends kids super only hunting barrels. Like dolomite says they shoot 245 cast just fine (except one of them. Don't know why it wont)
