Had not a single clue that the 300 Blkout would close up in a 5.56 upper like that.
Just for convenience, all my PMAGs are sorted - Black = 300 Blackout, FDE = 5.56

I was at the NRA convention last weekend.
I talked to the folks at MAGPUL and suggested they produce a dedicated 300 Blk magazine with markings molded in to make it easy to spot.
They said they were considering a magazine optimized for 300 Blackout, but they were too busy now filling orders for AR magazines.

Belt & suspenders...

Spritz some paint through a home brew stencil on both sides & stick a P-Touch label on the base.

Mine is just the opposite, but same idea. Ne'er the twain shall mix.

I only have .223 in bolt actions. ARs are for cooler IMO calibers. :) Don't have to worry about this happening.

Yep. 300 will chamber in 5.56 and 25/223. All my guns are color coded. Mags and rifle match up with same colors and they are NEVER on the bench or out of their case at the same time. I shoot with 4 children and the risks are too great to break this rule.

This is why I consider $15 on a dust cover marked "300 BLACKOUT" to be money well spent. I also have done only my 300 blackout in magpul OD, so rocking the color coding thing too.
