Who will cut, crown, thread a melonited barrel?

Post by endoguy »

Does anyone know of a shop/gunsmith who will work on a melonited barrel?

I have a carbine gassed 16 inch barrel I need cut down to 11.5" and then threaded for a FH.

Those with experience please advise.

There has been great feedback about his work. If he is too busy send me a PM and I can assist you.
Does your barrel already have a pistol gas port drilled?

It's not really much harder to turn a melonited barrel than it is any other really.

It can be sand blasted off, sanded off with a sander or sand paper, or any other sanding media. It is like case hardened parts. It still is harder at first on a lathe or a mill. Once you are through the first few thousandths then the treated area is gone.
