Re: Power Pro 300 MP Load Data

Got back out today, for a little shooting. Temperature was up to 72. Kind of windy but wanted to shoot!! Took the old (by now) standard load of the 147fmjbt, modified mixed cases loaded with 17.5 gns of 300-MP velocity was up a tad from when the temps were lower to a average of 2027fps. Got a chance...

Re: Power Pro 300 MP Load Data

Read my post about 3 above yours.......although I have not ventured in the 150gn much, the 147gn give every indication you can use 150's with this powder. I have shot 150 corelokts at 16.5 and 17.0 without pressure signs. The 17.0 was more accurate. I was just focusing more on the 147gn. right now. ...

Re: harbor freight cutoff tool

I picked up a HF #42307 on Thursday. Just happened to call after their truck arrived and got my hands on it quickly. They offered the replacement warranty on it so you would think its just a supply problem.

Re: Using 7.62x39 bullets for reloading

this has been covered many times. some swage the projectile down to 308 but it is not needed. copper and lead are very soft and there are no issues. I may be late to the 300 BO, but not to reloading. While copper and lead are soft, the majority of com bloc 7.62 X 39's projectiles are copper flashed...

Re: Using 7.62x39 bullets for reloading

Some may do it, more so with cast, but I won't. 300 Blackout is the same caliber .308 as the common sporting cartridge as is the Nato 7.62 X51mm. 7.62 X 39mm actually is a .311 caliber. Just like the 7.62 X 54mm Russian. Like the 303 British. I am not going to be squeezing a .311 caliber copper flas...

Re: Power Pro 300 MP Load Data

Power Pro 300-MP powder was the only powder I could find when I started out for the 300BO, so I have a few pounds coming and will be trying different loads in the near future. I also have a bunch of 147gn m-80's that I will use as a plinking/range round. My first loads were loaded to a COAL of 2.150...

Re: Elk Hunting

I know a guy that killed a cow with his 6.8. Within the right constraints, I could see it being done but it would limit the shot selection and the range one would have. I think I would have to use a Barnes as well.....they do penetrate!!

Re: 300MP powder w/ Cast bullets

Jeff H are you still working on this? I found a local source of .308 sized 130gn cast for about .08 each. I may try some to work up a plinking load. It will be with 300MP powder as well, as that is all I have found. Tried to find some gas checks for the cast bullets and came up short there as well. ...
