I don't like any of the trimmers that trim the mouth relative to the shoulder. You're stacking tolerances.

Re: Help needed building my 300 blackout

True and I wouldn't use it for cheaper stuff (I would buy the cheaper stuff on the used market) but it was an extra $200 in my pocket at the time I bought a scope for my .308 and if you're looking at their Razor line it can be pretty significant. Me, I'm always looking to shave bucks off everything ...

Re: Help needed building my 300 blackout

When looking for an optic, your job may qualify you for the Vortex Military/LEO/First Responder discount program which would give you a _HEFTY_ discount on their MSRP for any of their scopes or red dots. Look into it. Only downside is that you have to order from them and it could take up to a couple...

Re: What's the best riflescope out of these and are these good prices?

It's hard to go wrong with anything Vortex. If you're current/ex military or a LEO/first responder they have an awesome discount program that will have you buying at least a class above what you're currently considering. Their warranty also makes it very easy to buy used Vortex scopes with little wo...

Re: Will a 223/556 Acog work for 300 blk?

If you have a smartphone I would download the trial version of Strelok. With it you can input your ballistics info for the round you're shooting and try out just about any scope/reticle on the market. Here's an example that shows a Vortex Strike Eagle reticle with ballistics for one of the 5.56 roun...

Re: Dealer shot and scratched my suppressor

He did you a favor. One less thing to worry about scratching, but then again I buy everything blem that I can. My dad tells a story about my grandpa getting a new truck back in the 50's. He grabbed a ball peen hammer, proceeded to put a dent in every panel, then told his gaggle of kids that it was r...

Re: Big Gas-Port 8"?

This is general advice for 16" carbine gas barrels and I'd still give it. Anytime I see someone say that about a shorter barrel I usually will dispute it.

Re: Gas Port Diameter for 8" 300BLK?

My 9" runs well with a 0.100" port, commercial BCG, and H2 buffer. Here's a nice link with info you may like:

Re: My (fairly) New 300 Blk

Why do you have your scope mounted so far back? Most people install that scope/mount combo with the mount in the other direction and the eyepiece about flush with the back of the charging handle.
