Re: the Covid got me
Damn plant, that sucks! But at least it waited until you had killed some deer! I’ll send up some prayers for a continued recovery. Like TBM said, some get it and are hit hard, some sail through easily. Mrs BS and I got it late October. For me it was like a fairly bad allergy day. She felt like she h...

Man gds, you’re taking care of business!
And what are you doing dragging it? You’ve got kids for that!

Re: 90lb NC White tail Doe harvested with 190gr Hornady Sub x.
Congrats gds!
Looks like the Sub-X did the job. And bullet placement looks good to me, too.
I do wish Hornady had made an all copper slug for their subsonic rounds, though, to avoid pieces of lead and jacket in the meat.

Re: Sig Subsonic on deer??
Congrats on the venison heading to the freezer. There’s not a lot of velocity or energy to give shock with subs, think of them as pistol rounds. You really need rifle velocity, 2000 fps or so, for any kind of ‘shock’ to kick in. Check out gds’s thread on subsonic hunting, he and others share a wealt...

Re: My First 350 Legend Kill
I found a small chunk of lead at the entrance (through the backstrap, sadly) and of course no luck finding the rest of the slug. I imagine it would still work through a shoulder, but time will tell. I was hoping for a high shoulder/spine shot, but you take the good shot you are given! I’ve see bulle...

My First 350 Legend Kill
Killed my first 350 Legend deer yesterday evening with Winchester 150gr Extreme Point ammo. Big doe, about 20 yards, walking directly away from me. Rifle height was about 20 feet above. Impact was about 8 or so inches behind her shoulder and took out about three inches of her spine. Exited just to t...

A second vote for CMMG. I have two and they seem to work well.

Sounds like Shorty was a priceless friend and wonderful character-of-the-world. May he rest in peace, and cook some heavenly ‘shine for the angels.

Re: 6mm ARC experience anyone?
supersport, I also am interested in it. And no worries about posting non-300blk stuff here. We tend to be open to new cartridges here, and not openly critical of anything else like some other cartridge specific forums! I actually have a 6ARC barrel on back order from Odin. No idea when I might see i...
