Re: Looking for load data 200 GR subs
AR 15 10.5 barrel 1/8 twist The 11 Gr of 1680 was 1125 FPS. I posted wrong above ( was Not 1325 fps ) These were stable when shot but target was about 15 yds. is that to far to test ? The 200 Gr coated was recommended and the cost. Trying to work out all the details for my first loads. Reading on t...

Re: Why is it so hard to shoot subs?
Bump just because I don’t want anyone to think it’s easy to shoot small groups with subs, even past 50 yards. Some good shooters chimed in that found a lot of frustration when they first started shooting subs. Poked a little fun at Roadrunner 1969 in this thread for bench rest stuff, but he’s right....

Re: Looking for load data 200 GR subs
Well Hank, you sure picked a doozy for your first venture into rifle reloading. I've loaded for rifle since the 60s. Nothing too crazy, just for short range deer hunting, jack rabbits, etc. A couple of years ago a buddy got me into long range, which opened up a whole new world. Then I got a 300 BLK...

Re: Looking for load data 200 GR subs
Hank55, let's back up... Are your bullets FMJ (full metal jacket, meaning a copper jacket with lead inside) and coated, or are they lead, no jacket, but coated? I'm betting the latter since you seem to have bought them and no manufacturer in their right mind would coat a copper jacketed FMJ. Thanks...

Re: Looking for load data 200 GR subs
About the only thing you can count on as far as velocity change, is that it’s a very rare occasion that velocity increases with a shorter barrel. With supers people seem to lose 20-25 fps per inch, with subs probably about half that. The problem with subs is that most people won’t develop a load to ...

Re: Looking for load data 200 GR subs
Thanks I might not be asking the questions right. I just didn't see any charts for 300 Blk from a 10,5 barrel. ( manufactures data seems to only show 16'' barrels) Where do you guys find your load data for shorter barrels? I want rounds to stay subsonic even after i put the can on. Was not sure how...

Re: Light weight subsonics. What available powders are viable?
Thanks for the input it is always appreciated. There are a few threads here dedicated for single shot and bolt gun light weight subsonic loads. One load that I saw that I thought was really interesting was a Hornady xtp 90gr that some people were reportedly getting to expand at subsonic velocities....

Re: VV N120
My favorite powder for carbine gassed rifles.
There is data out there, Hornady, Sierra, Vihtavouri, won’t be specific to the bullet choice tho.
If you have a good 1680 load, I would load N120 1/2 grain more for a start.

Re: Not cycling with subs
Based upon what I read AR makers are porting 300blk assuming you will be suppressing subsonics. That is a fair assumption. That said, an any barrel with a .075" gas port is not going to cycle subs unsuppressed. Suppressed it would've. Not true. The system was designed to work in all 4 configur...
