Re: 300 HAM'r
For me the numbers did not add up, if chambered in an AR. The magazine length is too limiting. Single shot or AI magazine bolt action it would make a difference, throated to take advantage of heavier bullets, it has a lot more potential, as in 2500 fps+ 150 grain. Keep in mind, I prefer 150 grain an...

Re: MPBR with 110 Barnes for deer hunting?
One of the things to remember when doing this is to include you average group size. If you shoot a 2” group at 100 yards, you almost have to add a portion of that to your 1” arc. The example would be your 50 yard “0” would vary +/- 1/2” at 50 and hit 1” low at 100. So a shot 1/2” high at 50 yards wo...

Re: MPBR with 110 Barnes for deer hunting?
You’re thinking is correct, but you might think about moving your zero out to around 75-80 yards and compare the numbers. It just moves the arc some and you might prefer one over the other.

Re: Never mind Closed
I have unique and h110. The container volume is maybe 40% larger for the unique. They both have about the same density of about 101 lbs/ft^3 but the bulk density for h110 is about 61 lbs/ft^3 while unique is 37 lbs/ft^3. So I need to understand the difference between density and bulk density. I hav...

Re: Never mind Closed
Was typing during your last reply. Yes and no, it varies with different powders. My two favorite example are 1680 and 296/H110 and mostly suppers. But CFE BLk is another good example. Most powders, work best at a higher load density, the exception is faster pistol powders that were designed for low ...

Re: RARR FTF 2023
If the loaded rounds measure .334”, they should not be tight in the chamber. The chamber should actually be .335” That’s why checking the round in the chamber is a good idea. You never know. Compare maximum cartridge with minimum chamber specs. https://dayattherange.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Sa...

Re: RARR FTF 2023
Plain and simple, you have a headspace problem. Complicated by thick brass, or a seating problem with the bullets. The empty case fails the gauge, that will not change when you seat the bullet. The bullet is causing the false reading. There are a couple of reasons this might be happening. Bullet dia...

Re: RARR FTF 2023
A couple of thoughts. Primers that are not fully seated, often will not go off. The reason is that the firing pin strike will move the primer forward, instead of crushing it. Sometimes a second or third hit will ignite it, once fully seated. With a base to shoulder datum that short, you’re going to ...

Re: accuracy with sierra 125gn pro hunter
I would start with this data working up from the low load.
