Looks like he followed a lot of the AR build videos on YouTube. Several of the videos I watched to learn how build my AR showed procedures guaranteed to produce similar results.

I'm running the MI Gen-2 SS in FDE. The FDE was a real close color match to my WC upper/lower set. I haven't used the MLOK, but I am a fan of MI's work on my hand guard. Hope that sorta helps.

+1 for the Brownells Tool. I used one for my first AR build a couple of days ago. It was super easy to use and works as advertised. Don't know how cheap is cheap, but Wilson Combat has an upper for just over $100.
