Re: New to 300BLK

If you are going to be shooting a lot of both supersonic and subsonic you might want to invest in an adjustable gas block. Yes an upper can be made to function with both but there are compromises that can be addressed with an adjustable gas block.

Re: HELP!!!

The bullets are Lee 230's that were powder coated. The powder charge is probably 9.5 grains.

Looking through the powder database they have different formulations of IMR 4227 with different ingredients. I bet this is a different formulation that some of the recent lots and that is why it is quieter.

Re: HELP!!!

I have shot A LOT of IMR 4227 but these loads are quieter than an other I have ever heard. Must be one of the other formulations.

Out of an 8" bolt gun and my silencer it is stupid quiet. It also cycles my AR.

Re: HELP!!!

I have never used or had A5744 and that is not a VihtaVouri powder.

I have every single powder I had before except A1680.

Re: My new wildcat, the 6.5 Creedless

I have decided t use a 221 Fireball necked up to use 6mm bullets. It would be even easier than what I had originally envisioned. And it will not be a lot more usable as well because with the 55 grain 6mm bullet I should be able to get a lot more velocity than the 90 grain 6.5 that was the lightest 6...

HELP!!!

I recently found a box of loaded 300 Blackout subsonic ammunition. It was labeled for an AR. I was using it to test fire a newly built gun and these loads are insanely quiet, especially for a AR loading. Quieter than anything else I have ever shot. Problem is I do not have any load data in or on the...

I guess I could have just used an M die to squeeze the neck down as well. Might have to take a serious look at it because there is a ton more bullets to choose from in a more appropriate weight as well.

Believe that isvthe 22 Jet. I considered that as well for shooting HEAVY subsonic loads. Problem was using 5.56 brass the neck was way too thick and I would loose a lot.
