Re: Hello from North Carolina. I have had a 300
The part of NC where I live does not have garbage service. We have to take ours to a dump station a few miles away. Does not cost anything. They have this guy there monitoring what is brought in. A pile of sugar bags being thrown away catches their attention (moonshine). Meth production is said to b...

Re: Hello from North Carolina. I have had a 300
Live in NC too. Western part. 300 Blackout is my favorite. No long range shots are needed where I live. To many hills, mountains and trees. If you can save your brass, (in my case finding my ejected brass) reloading saves a lot of money. Powder per round is cheap as are primers. Bullets can be had f...

Why the eyes??
A next door neighbor stopped by our house yesterday. Had a nice 8 pt buck in the back of his truck he found along the road. Had a small leaking blood hole in it's neck and the eyeballs plucked out. No other damage. Since it was found on our land, a hay field, he thought it may have been mine. It was...

Re: loud / quiet
What I believe is that if a noise causes ringing of the ears there is some amount of damage. It might not be much but is cumulative over time and lessens your resistance to loud noises. Some truck drivers have hearing loss only into one ear, usually the left from driving miles and miles with the win...

Re: Specific Suppressor for 300 Blackout?
You are sacrificing a lot by limiting yourself to supers only. I reload, have both supers and subs. A suppressor does nothing for the supersonic crack of the bullet going supersonic. A suppressor does nothing for the clang of the action closing on an AR. Frankly, if I were not going to shoot sub-son...

Re: 410 single shot with split barrel
The idea of someone trying to shoot .45 or even .44's through the gun sounds reasonable. Overall, the gun is in good condition. Bore is shinny, no serious dents, dings or deep rust. I took one of my .45 bullets from reloading and put it at the muzzle end at the split. it would not fit, though only b...

Re: Ammo shortage
Thinking back, when I first started reloading I would buy 100 primers at a time from the local gun store. Now it is 2-3 thousand at a time of small rifle and the same for small pistol. Large rifle 1,000 and large pistol maybe 2,000 at a time. Powder per load is really a non-issue except for large ca...

410 single shot with split barrel
My deceased father-in-law left me a "Bridge Gun Company" break action single shot 410 in good shape except for the split. The barrel seems to have had a beaded front sight. The barrel is split through the now non-existing front sight and back behind the hole of the sight about a quarter in...

Re: Is shooting a 300 BO through a .40 pistol can OK
One of my first suppressors was a Yankee Hill Cobra M2 in .40 pistol can. Bought it 12-14 years ago. It is a heavy steel stake driver of a can. One of my 300 BOs is a heavy barrel bolt gun so weight is not an issue. My gut feeling is as long as the caliber is larger than the bullet I would be OK. A...
