Dellet I took your warning about knowing what a double load of AA #9 looks like.
If I can’t be an example, I can at least be a warning

Re: Trouble with LabRadar

Doppler may not get you the full potential of the LabRadar, but it is far more accurate and provides much more information than a standard chronograph, that unless your shooting high end matches, it won’t matter. One of the features is the velocity over distance features. This allows you to estimate...

Re: Trouble with LabRadar

I think I have always used Doppler. Early on the reviews suggested that it would not work for most of my shooting needs, I have found that not to be true. Maybe because of the Doppler setting, Full metal jacket bullets should be a problem. Something about the lead base and shape, a cupped base does ...

Re: Where to go from here?

I'll come back to this load when stuff is sorted. I can ring steel at 50 yards all day with these rounds within a couple of inches and for a 5.5" barrel with a red dot that is more than enough for a pdw. The perfectionist in me isn't satisfied. I should get a decent grouping from that load. I'...

Re: 208 grain Hornady A-MAX expansion out of 5.5" barrel?

Feel a bit bamboozled by Hornady's bamboozery. I figured if they were marketing a subsonic 208 grain hollow point it would actually expand at subsonic speeds. You’re not the only one who got bamboozeled and Hornady wasn’t to only manufacture doing it. You have to go back to the intent of the cartri...

Re: 208 grain Hornady A-MAX expansion out of 5.5" barrel?

Barrel length really has nothing to do with bullet expansion at subsonic speeds. Basically it’s always going to need to be under 1100 fps if it’s subsonic at reasonable temps. So if you want the 208 Amax to expand at a subsonic velocity. It’s really easy. Just shoot at temps around 1,000* F (1000 de...

Re: Adding Holographic or red dot to 300 bo

I use a one with an illuminated center dot. Seems easier than walking through the woods with your rifle upside down and switching back and forth. https://www.trijicon.com/uploads/product-uploads/product-downloads/AccuPoint_Mil_Dot_Reticle_200095.pdf Low light you want the best glass possible. Re: VV N120

It will be cleaner and quieter than 1680, have a bit more bulk for the same velocity. Generally that translates to better accuracy, more consistent numbers. No help with the Berry’s specifically, but my starting loads in general. Find max length for loading, whether it’s magazine length or where the...

Re: Bolt action specific subsonic loads.

Hold your horses. I loaded some with 190 subx and 6.2 grains HP38 and seated at 2.060" OAL. Group shrank to sub moa at 100 yds, with SD of 2. Vertical dispersion of .292". This is looking real good. MV was 1020. Going to try to inch down the MV a little while retaining the good SDs. Stay ...
