Re: Superlative Arms Piston Conversion Kit - 300BLK Build Helpful Info Thread

Edited OP section about my Ballistic Advantage barrel after finding that I was not affected by the lack of thread relief behind the muzzle threads. My YHM QD mounts have more than .060" of.... "lead" inside them before the 5/8x24 threads begin. So the brake mount butts firmly and squa...

Re: Superlative Arms Piston Conversion Kit - 300BLK Build Helpful Info Thread

Another barrel manufacturer dellet recommended, which makes 300BLK barrels specifically made to be used with Superlative Arms gas piston conversion kits, already pre-dimpled for the solid/set-screw type piston kits, and even with gas ports sized for your usage -- is X-Caliber . Here is a link: https...

Superlative Arms Piston Conversion Kit - 300BLK Build Helpful Info Thread

I got to thinking it would probably be helpful to create a topic for whatever few of us there are who are interested in building their own piston-driven 300 Blackout using a Superlative Arms Piston Conversion Kit. They make a great kit and there ARE people who have this working well -- even if Super...

Re: New Build - couple Wilson Combat barrel spec questions

My pistol uses a KAK barrel, works great. It is a 10" 1:8 that I wanted. Their cheapy off-the-shelf model. NICE! Thanks popper - is this with a Superlative Arms piston conversion kit? Did you use clamp-on or set screw type? XCaliber is good also. They do seem to have many fans. I hope Dellet d...

Re: Texas hog hunt.

Thanks gds and BJK, that is good to know. I know some people are just trying to deal with the nuisance factor but it is good to know you can eat them as well.

Re: 8" Piston SBR Project

Thank you for sharing your build info and some things you ran into along the way. Perhaps not many people build piston-driven AR's or even have any esteem for them but some of us do. The longer length of time before it will be necessary to clean the weapon to keep it running due to crud buildup etc....

Re: Texas hog hunt.

This does make me think of a question - please forgive my ignorance, I have only hunted (and eaten) deer in the past.

Are the wild hogs you see in Texas and elsewhere OK to eat or should they not be eaten for some reason?

Thanks!

Specific TYPE of bits to enlarge gas port on nitrided bbl?

Hi, If it turns out I will need to enlarge the gas port any for a build I'll be working on, I am curious if there are a certain TYPE of drill bits I should plan to use. (ie, HSS vs. TiN-coated vs. ABC-coated vs. carbide etc.) -- especially for that first "next size bigger" operation. The b...
