Re: RARR FTF 2023

I just checked a handy fired factory case and it is 93gr, including the spent primer (S&B headstamp). 15%+ case capacity difference is a pretty big deal I would get some new brass and be done with it... and on that note, while chopping and forming your own cases from range pickup once fired 223 ...

Re: Light weight subsonics. What available powders are viable?

My 300bo bolt gun broke before I could get into light subs with it, but I've done some work with TiteGroup in 762x39 using the .312" 85gr XTP bullet TiteGroup is great for this because it is known to not be position sensitive. Which is good, 'cause 4gr of it is like .34cc in volume, so it reall...

Re: Experience with Speer 200 gr for subs

Sorry, my 300bo rifle broke and I'm not really enthused and ... But yea, I have 20 still loaded (did I mention the rifle broke?) and the first 20 were plenty accurate and had the proper sound for subs (no can and no chrono to test with... but drop and overall sound sure indicated they were sub). Use...

Re: Help! My head is spinning- load info needed

You are seeing gas and barrel length references from the guys/gals that are concerned with all the normal aspects of reloading (safety, accuracy, etc) but also with having a certain amount of gas volume (and therefore pressure) when the bullet hits the gas port so that their semi-auto (or full, I gu...

Re: What is the best jig to cut down .223 to 300 blackout

I gotta say.... stop and strongly consider getting into making your own. Between the processing time to do it (the extra steps beyond basic reloading - chamfering case mouths post chop, possibly turning necks if brass too thick, etc) and the cost of the equipment ($50-75 for saw and jig, plus chamfe...

Re: Safe OAL for Berry's 110gr Bullets?

You need a certain amount at least in the case for neck tension, etc. With these short bullets I think that will be the limiting factory on COAL.

Also, you need to see how much of the bullet length is bore diameter or close to it, since that can affect the max length as well.

Re: Trail Boss Alternative light subs

I'm using the .312" 85 gr XTP in a 762x39 bolt gun (my 300bo is out of commission)... Got to run 'em over a chrono today even. 3.5gr TiteGroup - 5 shot string gave 755, 922, 869, 880, 845 for an average of 854.20 and a big StdDev of 62.06 Bumping the powder charge to 4.0 gr and all else same-sa...

Re: need help on pistol choice

NOW would be the time to get that braced pistol and get it registered without the NFA $200 extortion https://www.atf.gov/rules-and-regulations/factoring-criteria-firearms-attached-stabilizing-braces Already have a braced 9mm set up so that will be either no-braced or registered... still waffling on...

Re: Load Data for 220 Grain, 300 BLK, Blue Bullets

I like this reference since you can filter by powder and/or bullet weight https://shootersreference.com/reloadingdata/300-aac-blackout/ When I did my subs I used the Speer site since I had Speer bullets. 200gr spitzer sp with 11.2gr 5744 did well. Bolt gun though, so no idea if it would cycle semi...

need help on pistol choice

Subject kinda says it... Not impressed with my RAR, once it returns from factory repair it is getting sold. What to replace it with? Do I bother to replace it? I got the 300 bolt gun 'cause .310 components are scarce and there is more variety in reloading data for 300bo than there is for 762x39 (and...
