MPBR with 110 Barnes for deer hunting?
Chronoed the 110 tac-tx out of my 10.5 bolt gun today. 2215 was the average. If I understand MPBR correctly, I can zero at 50 yards and I should be within an inch from 35 - 115 yards. Does that sound correct? Probably wouldn’t need to shoot anything past 100, so the 50 yard zero with that round shou...

Re: Building a 300BO Remington 700 Pistol
Another update: Thanks for the info ReadyAimDuck I ended up going with a 10.5 barrel just to be on the safe side. KAK had one in stock so I ordered it. Wanted t go with a little better quality, but everything else was months out and I wasn't sure on the length. I put it all together and took it out ...

Re: Building a 300BO Remington 700 Pistol
Sorry I’m just getting back to this. I finally picked up the MDT chassis on black Friday. I was also able to find a Remington 700 receiver in 223. At the moment I’m trying to find the barrel I want. I’d like to go with a 9” if possible. But I’ve been having mixed answers on that question. I found a ...

Building a 300BO Remington 700 Pistol
It seems like the few models of 300BO bolt pistols are expensive and not available for months after order. I was thinking of building one from parts: 1 - MDT LSS GEN2 CHASSIS 2 - Remington 700 receiver with X Mark Pro trigger 3 - KAK REM 700 10.5 INCH 300 BLK 1:7 5R STAINLESS BARREL 4 - Set of go/no...

Re: M2 military bullets - what kind of accuracy should I expect?
Tried the same load with a Hornady #3031 150 grain bullet today. Was finally able to get a sub MOA group. It would seem my gun does NOT like those M2 bullets. I think I'll just use those for subsonic plinking rounds at 25 yards.

Re: Is there a sweet spot for CFE BLK?
Wow, what a difference a bullet makes! Loaded up some 21 grain with that Hornady #3031 150 grain bullet. Target at 50 yards. Same exact setup as last time except the new bullets. Finally was able to get a sub MOA group! Even the worst groups were twice as good as the groups with the M2 bullets. Safe...

Re: M2 military bullets - what kind of accuracy should I expect?
Thanks for the info! The M2 bullet was used in ammo for the M1 I believe? 152 grains. The base is actually open and you can see the core of the bullet. I tried a few yesterday in loads and got terrible results. I have some Hornedy #3031 150 grains and I'm going to try again with those. I will keep a...

Re: Is there a sweet spot for CFE BLK?
Finally mad it back out to the range yesterday. Didn’t have much luck with the loads. However, I realized I had loaded them with M2 bullets. Should have used the Hornady #3031. I asked in several places about the M2 bullets and was told they can be hit and miss for accuracy. I had five rounds loaded...
