Worth every penny it cost ya. Reload at the range... ..When I first got into this I did like a lot of guys do. Re: Bear Creek Uppers??

Thanks Silent but Deadly. Your info very helpful. Shared it with BCA and they agreed with your conclusions. I have ordered an H3 buffer from Midway USA which should be here this week. Then between my regular buffer (3 steel weights) and the H3 (3 tungsten weights) I can mix them till it is just right.

Re: Bear Creek Uppers??

Got the upper back from BCA and tested the upper yesterday. Tried 2 rounds each of 4 different types of brass cased ammo: 1 - Magtech 123 grain FMJ 2- Hornady 110 grain V-Max 3 - Sig Sauer 120 Grain Elite 4 - HSM - 125 Grain Pro Hunter All functioned properly, including locking back the bolt on an e...

Re: Bear Creek Uppers??

Got an email from BCA last Thursday. Said their "technician" tested the upper using PPU steel cased ammo and was unable to duplicate my problem so the are returning the upper to me (should be here tomorrow). I wonder why they did not try some brass cased ammo? I understand that steel cases...

Re: Bear Creek Uppers??

Called BCA today and they suggested it might a problem with the bolt. Emailed me a pre-paid UPS return label and said they would have one of their gunsmiths fix it. They reminded me that it has a lifetime warranty. If it all works out you can't ask for much more.

Re: Bear Creek Uppers??

Don't think it is the buffer, especially since I tried it with two different lowers, one from a rifle and the other an AR pistol. Also the bolt is not unlocking. After I fire it the bolt remains locked and I have to place the butt of the gun on the shooting table and use both hands to force the bolt...

Re: Bear Creek Uppers??

Not really sure. One is from a 7.5 inch 5.56 pistol and the other from a Ruger MPR, 20 inch 5.56. I thought it might be the buffer which is why I tried it on the Ruger (plan to use it on the pistol lower, if I can get it to work!)

Re: Bear Creek Uppers??

Just bought one myself. 10.5 inch 300 blackout. Side charging. Tried 3 different brands of ammo (HSW 130 gr copper, Hornady 110 V-Max, Sig 120gr Copper Hunter) and 2 different lowers. Will not eject spent case and I have to brace the butt of the gun on the shooting table to force the bolt open and e...
