Re: 300Blk and Blood

an update from yesterday. I shot a doe with a 125 accubond (16" barrel) at about 40 yards. I went to the spot and found no hair, blood or lung. She'd run 35 yds and piled up. There was some blood there, but none I could see along her back trail. There was a 1" exit wound, but plugged with ...

Re: Another Cycling saga…

But I think Dellet has given you the best perspective. You're running a pistol barrel designed for heavy subs and a suppressor. And with no suppressor.
I would think the supers would cycle and pick up the next round, though.

Re: Another Cycling saga…

Hey, this may be just a shot in the dark, but have you greased the recoil spring? I've seen that help a couple guns that weren't quite running right run better. .

Re: 300Blk and Blood

to the OP's original point, I'm getting very good accuracy with my load, optimal shot placement (heart/lung) and very dead deer with one shot on the 3 I've shot, but not much or no blood trail. That's not an issue for me where I hunt, 2 of the 3 I've watched fall after a short run. But I get the fru...

Re: 300Blk and Blood

I've shot 3 bucks with the 300 BLK, 2 were pass-throughs but little blood trail; my most recent one a few weeks ago was a brisket shot that smashed ribs, took off the aorta and crossed diagonally through the abdomen, but I couldn't recover the bullet from all the gut stuff. All three were shot withi...

Re: M2 military bullets - what kind of accuracy should I expect?

I'm not sure exactly what an M2 is. I've used pulled military 173 gr. match bullets over the years in my .308 and some in my 300 BLK. My 308, a Remington 788 is capable of 1/2" to 3/4" groups at 100 yds with Sierras, and shoots the pulled match bullets at around 1 to 1 & 1/4" My 1...

Re: Anyone make BUIS for .300AAC with 16” barrel

Subsonics are going to shoot lower than supersonics. If you have the standard front sight atop the gas block, then it sounds like your rear sight is too short. I think a lot of companies make BUIS's, some are made to work with the standard front sight. Most are adjustable. If you can post a picture ...

Re: 1st Post, Greetings, and 300 BO concept idea

I have no personal experience with it. A couple reviews are on the web. One reported that it sometimes failed to cycle with subsonic. But with a suppressor, it would probably generate more pressure to cycle the action.

Re: 1st Post, Greetings, and 300 BO concept idea

Take a look at the Ruger Mini-14 Ranch Rifle in 300 BLK. They evidently thought of it first.

Re: Best barrel length for Deer Hunt under 75yrds?

I'd recommend the 16" also. You get good velocity with supers, and a little less muzzle blast than with a shorter barrel. And with a collapsible stock, it's still compact and handy in a deer stand. To me, the 300 BLK is my 1st choice for deer inside 100 yds in the woods. I also agree with what ...
