Re: What is your favorite barrel?
I shoot a lot of powder coated cast bullets, so was looking for a 9 twist. A friend's gunsmith had a 20" SS DPMS DMR (?) with 9 twist and chambered 5.56. I bought it and have just been thrilled to see how well it does, typically sub 1.5moa at 200 yards. This one won't see a jacketed bullet. I'v...

Re: Lightweight 16” barrel recommendations
I bought a CMMG MT contour. The CMMG is carbine gas, and nitrided vs Wilson being stainless and pistol gas.

Re: Alternative Caliber Practice
First off, 300BO is pretty inexpensive to load, and particulary if using heavy, powder coated cast bullets. If you want inexpensive, just buy a 223/556 upper and add a CMMG 22LR conversion. Short barreled 223/556s are incredibly loud and make hellacious fireballs. Likewise, you could put a 9mm upper...

Re: Trail Boss Alternative light subs
I doubt you'll find ANY published data for the loads you're looking for. https://www.hodgdonreloading.com/reloading-data-center Start with Hodgdon's 32-20 pistol loads. Remember that they are using a 5.5" barrel and you might need more powder than their starting loads to push a 90gr jacketed bu...

Re: Trail Boss Alternative light subs
Take a look at the burn rate chart and look for similar burn rate powders. Hodgdon Clays is a very clean burning powder, but most powders can seem dirty IF you are loading too low pressure. https://hodgdon.com/wp-content/uploads/2023-burn-rate-chart.pdf Be aware that shotshell powders might still be...

NOE 247gr powder coat design
Bangbangping's avatar bullet intrigued me. The perfect expansion likely was it, but I saw that he was applying his powder electrostatically and using a tray with nails to cure them upright. Too, THAT design had a fatter spec nose than I trusted for PC (NOE's typically run at least .001" OVER th...

Re: Pistol Brace
it seems the BATFE ruling went into the congressional record January 29th, so 120 day "amnesty period" should run until May 29th.

Re: new NOE design
Just for S&Gs, I bought a Duramag 350L magazine for the 7.62x40 It allows 2.30" OAL, and this bullet was loaded to that length in reformed WW cases, F205 primers, and 21-24gr surplus AA2200 (old stuff). Pmag 7.62x35 mags allowed 2.26" OAL, and 20-23gr charges were loaded into the same ...

Re: need help on pistol choice
NOW would be the time to get that braced pistol and get it registered without the NFA $200 extortion
