Re: 125 gr Trail Boss for AR?...cycle or not?

Trailboss under a 125gr isn't going to cycle an AR at all, but it does make damm fun mousefart loads for a RARR. But that horse is already out of the barn. Gone

Re: Semi-auto Subsonic Load Development Without Suppressor

My theory: Run a few through at the lowest expected velocity to check for stability. Then do load development in the configuration you expect to shoot. Don't complicate things. ^^ This right here. I'm sure you are itching to start load development for subs a soon as possible, but you'll be better o...

Re: Magazines

^^^ That right there is why my .223 mags are FDE, my 300 BLK mags are black, and my subsonic mags are camo pattern to match that rifle. No one but me loads any of them to prevent that sort of thing from happening. I realize you weren't the one who loaded the mag. Its a shame you were the victim of s...

Re: Suppressed SBR Cycling Issue

What size is your gas port in the barrel? (measure it, DO NOT believe what any manufacturer says it is) Using numbered drill bits will get you close enough. I'de bet dollars to donuts your port size is too small. My 8" barreled SBR with the suppressor needed the port drilled out before it would...

Re: Help! Does someone have a good way to clean a suppressor?

Has anyone ever tried wet tumbling the baffles and other internals just like you would empty brass shell casings? The internals of mine are steel. Maybe use water/CLR at 50/50 with the stainless steel pins?

Re: Not cycling with subs

What size is the gas port in the barrel? I'm guessing its too small. If the gas port is too small, no amount of opening on an adjustable gas block is going to help with cycling. Drilling a port up in size is an easy operation even with a hand drill. You already have a perfect guide hole, and you jus...

Re: Interesting results Loading supers and subs with imr 4227

I recognize that nothing will beat my bolt gun with 220gr RN in it Ummm maybe, maybe not. For a bolt gun load you can get stupid quiet using 110gr Varmageddons and Trail Boss powder to make subs. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 gr gets it done. We're talking Hollywood or BB gun quiet. Less bulle...

Re: Interesting results Loading supers and subs with imr 4227

On your sub loads I would expect you to use less 4227 than I do for your 190 gr bullets. My 220 SMKs use 9.7 gr to get to 980 fps. Your 10.2 gr load with a 190 at 1050+ makes sense. As long as you have a chronograph to check velocities you can keep going lower until you find a sub load that meets yo...

Re: Interesting results Loading supers and subs with imr 4227

You are right, an AR shooting subs is still a rackety monster to the shooter because of the BCG slamming back and forth next to your ear. To someone standing 10ft away its another matter, but still no where near as quiet as a bolt gun. Comparing bolt gun quiet and AR quiet is like comparing apples t...

Re: Need recommended load for AR pistol

Google SMK 220 grain. It seems everybody has them in stock but they are far from cheap. I'm glad I got my stockpile of them loaded up before the covid craziness hit the markets.
