Re: Semi-auto Subsonic Load Development Without Suppressor
My theory: Run a few through at the lowest expected velocity to check for stability. Then do load development in the configuration you expect to shoot. Don't complicate things. For the AGB, yes, you probably want it open (to start) for sub work. After you find something that works, you may be able t...

Re: Trouble with LabRadar
He ... steered me away from third party recoil sensors because he said they could work well for 10 rounds and then be kind of off for 10 rounds. I've tried every method there is. Ended up settling on the JKL trigger. After probably a thousand rounds, the only time it hasn't worked is when I forgot ...

Re: Light weight subsonics. What available powders are viable?
IMO you're not missing anything by not having Trail Boss. I've had horrible ES with it when trying sub loads with light bullets. Of the three powders you list, I've used Bullseye the most and have no issues with it. You'll likely find it to be a bit position sensitive, but that's not unique (pun int...

Re: Hello from Texas
Welcome. What part of the state are you in? I tend to agree with BJK that shorter than 16" is better with a suppressor, but also that pistol gas is not needed if you do go that long. Personally, I like 11"-12" to gain a few FPS when shooting supers, but I've shot deer with 8" rif...

Re: Trail Boss Alternative light subs
Personally, I don't like Trail Boss for light subs. I've seen 5 shot extreme spreads of over 400 fps when trying light subs. After four or five attempts I gave up on it. Too many powders, not enough time.

Re: Trail Boss Alternative light subs
I use 4.5 grains of Tin Star for about 1000 fps in a bolt action. Giggle factor is high. Also check out this thread. Lots of good load info. https://www.300blktalk.com/forum/viewto ... 41&t=92768

Re: need help on pistol choice
I bought a CVA Scout pistol several years ago and for the money, I can't imagine anything better. I own quite a few firearms and only one (a 70's era Rem 700 25-06) is less picky about loads. Just about anything I feed the Scout shoots well. No idea if they're all like this, but based on a sample of...

Re: Hornady 190 sub ?
Is there a benefit of using quiet subsonic rounds for hunting hogs? Does it not scare them off or something like that? Curious if the folks who are working up subsonic loads for hunting are gaining some advantage that way. No, even a suppressed sub will scare the pigs. Maybe not the pigs in the nex...
