Re: 4 Reasons 300 Blackout Is a Terrible Choice for Home Defense

Sorry if I'm alittle slow and I don't mean to anger anybody but can somebody explain the lies and half-truths to me? Keep in mind that I'm also behind enemy lines and can't legally have a suppressor. I also don't have a 300BLK but I have friends that do and the round does intrigue me. I understand t...

Re: What is your favorite barrel?

My last 2 223/5.56 barrels have been from AR 15 Performance. Melonite treated, 1 in 8 twist Hybrid 5R rifling, mid-length gas system, 5/8x24 thread (1/2x28 could also be purchased), reasonable priced, and shoots lights out (for me). Keeps up with my WOA and Shilen for half the price. YMMV

Re: Magazine Issue ? or something worse ?

Me personally, I'd make sure that it's lubed properly. Then I'd make sure it isn't an ammo issue. Use some known good factory ammo. Somebody stated that Hornady is hotter, try some other brands also. I'd make sure it's not an ammo issue before trying to diagnose it and possibly throwing a bunch of s...

You're right, I got RRA mixed up with another big name, and that name has completely escaped me at the moment.
Could it possibly start with the letter, "Wilson"?

Re: Asking for another opinion-6.8 this time

You may want to email Thomas at Paladin Machine Shop. He can do the reprofiling for a reasonable cost (so long as the barrel isn't Melonited) and will not steer you in the wrong direction. I've had work done for me and his work is top notch. Not to mention he has a reasonable turn around time also. ...

Re: Finicky magazine issues

You can always remove the barrel and stone the feedramp to remove the edge/lip/bevel and give it more of a knife edge so your rounds don't hang up there. Just make sure that you don't change the angle of the feedramp.

Re: Bipod on a SOTA Upper with free float tube

I'd say drill & tap a sling stud into the handguard. Replacing the gas block with a picatiny rail defeats the whole purpose of a free-floating barrel.

Just my 0.02.

Re: Carbine Bolt Carrier will not stay open

Mr Silver already have your answer...since he designed these things...I would go with his advice. Thank you so much for your insightful and detailed response. I totally understand how a heavier buffer would correct a short stroke problem. Let me see... I have stated that AAC 9 and 12.5 inch barrels...

Re: Carbine Bolt Carrier will not stay open

Curious. I don't understand how a heavier buffer would help it to cycle better. I would think that a heavier buffer would compound the problem.
